Project Overview

Avello Group carried out a full roof restoration and waterproofing program at St Mary's Primary Catholic School. The scope addressed roof cleaning, penetration waterproofing, and a full repaint of the roof, gutters and downpipes.

Scope of Works

The works comprised:

• Pressure washing of the complete roof using a turbo head, with sodium hypochlorite spray treatment to moss prior to washing, removing all dirt, mould and moss
• Cleaning out and pressure washing of all gutters and downpipes
• Re-screwing of all loose flashings and capping with self-tapping metal screws
• Removal of all defunct air conditioning penetrations, with new metal sheeting installed and fully waterproofed to the existing roof
• Spot-priming of all roof penetrations, AC penetrations, flashings, ridge cappings and roof vents
• Full waterproofing of all roof penetrations, AC penetrations, flashings, ridge cappings and roof vents
• Painting of the roof, applied by high-pressure airless spray with careful attention to full coverage where roof panels join
• Painting of all gutters and downpipes
• Removal of all trade waste from site on completion

Outcome

The project delivered a fully restored and waterproofed roof, with all penetrations sealed, flashings secured, and a refreshed paint finish applied across the roof, gutters and downpipes—with the site left clear of all trade waste on completion.
